I am a Schnauzer mix and approximately 5 years old. I am neutered, microchipped, up to date with my shots, potty trained and leash trained. I love to pass the time by snuggling with my humans and playing with my toys. Ideally I would like a home where I am the one and only but fear not, I do warm up to other dogs. Cats? I could care less about those strange little creatures. Laps and toys are what do it for me. Hi there! My name is Sissy. I'm a 2 year old Pomeranian mix. My foster mama says I am a sweet and energetic dog that likes to play with my toys and run around the yard. I get along with dogs and cats. We're working on my potty training. I sometimes have accidents and here's a fun fact; I actually prefer to do my business on concrete instead of grass. Why should I soil such a pretty thing like grass?
So here's the dirt on me: I'm a curious girl and well, let's face it, I can be a bit of a thief too. I like to steal trash out of the trash can. I want to see what's in there and make sure you're not getting rid of anything valuable. I also like to snoop in purses and bags to see what kind of delectable items you have stashed in there. And my sworn enemies are books and magazines. I will protect my family from these ancient relics. I mean, we're in the 21st century after all. Who still has books and magazines? If you do, don't put them at my level - just sayin. And then there's feeding time. Well, I mean business when it comes to eating and I want mine first. I can get a bit grumpy if not. I will also try and nab a morsel or 2 from others around me if I can. Let's not get it twisted, I'm not ferocious or anything, but I will make my displeasure known if feeding time isn't done just right. But you see, all of these qualities that may seem less than desirable can probably be corrected with patience, persistence and maybe some obedience training.
Now that we got all of that out of the way, let me tell you that I am so loyal and want nothing more than to be next to my humans. My foster mama says that I love to be by my humans and I will follow you to the moon and back. I am a "love hog."

Hi my name is Theon! My foster Mom says I am one spunky, fun loving little pooch. I love to run around and play with my furry foster siblings as much as possible. I love other dogs and people.
Everyone says I have crazy fur, but since I don't shed I think it's called "hair". Anyhow, my hair may look wirey but it's really silky soft.
My foster parents are currently working on my potty training and I'm really trying to get the hang of it. They are also teaching me some basic commands.

I LOVE to play with my foster sister and brothers and they are big Pit Bulls (2 of them) along with my little brother who is a 6 month old Maltipoo mix, Diezel. We play all the time but never get too far out of hand.
I live with Cats, but not so sure about those little creatures. I don’t bother them and they don’t bug me, works perfect. I even know how to use the doggy door at my foster house. I would love to find a forever home that will enjoy my energy as well as my calmer side, when I need your lap to sleep or lay on. Shih Tzu | 6-8 Year Old Male | Small 11-25 Lbs | Available for Adoption
Lucky Luciano (Lucky) is an eight-year-old male Shih Tzu. He is such an amazing boy that we can’t figure out why he ended up at IDOHR. Like many Shih Tzu’s, Lucky has had a bad run with skin allergies but he’s all cleared up now. Though he will more than likely need allergy medication for the rest of his life.
This gem of a dog is so sweet. Has a low-medium energy level. Will happily go on a walk with you or binge watch the latest Netflix series with you. Likes to play fetch and tug of war and will quietly chew on a bully stick for hours. He’s great with other dogs and would love another fur sibling but would probably be OK being an only dog as well.
No separation anxiety and is not a barker. He will need someone willing to continue with his potty training as he doesn’t seem to tell you he has to go, but as long as you take him out in the morning and evening he doesn’t seem to have any accidents. A yard would and a schedule be perfect for him.

Hi there! My name is Stella and I am a 3 year old Yorkie. I'm not your typical tiny little Yorkie that you can carry around in your purse or pocket. This girl has some size. I'm about 10-15 lbs. I'm a solid girl, not dainty. I came in to rescue with my sister Zoey because our previous owner couldn't take care of us anymore. That's ok because we were living outdoors. Now, I'm living it up with my sister, my foster ma and pa and my foster dog sisters who are chihuahuas and my foster brother who is a terrier mix. I get along pretty good with all of them except when it comes to affection. If I want affection I don't want to share. There's also a kitty in residence but when I first met him, I wanted to catch him. Rumor has it I may have clamped down on his tail but I say it was my sister Zoey. Foster ma isn't quite sure because we both were there and we both look similar and kitties get both of us going. So it's a hard no if you have or intend on having a kitty. My favorite thing to do is cuddle. I love to cuddle and sit in your lap. And when I'm not in your lap, I'm happy to lay on the floor or on the couch next to you. I'm ok on the leash and with practice I'm getting better. I have a lot of fun at the dog park and enjoy making friends. I love giving kissies to my fur brothers and sisters. I'm not quite sure how I would be as an only dog because for as long as I can remember, I've had a sidekick. For the most part, I'm potty trained. Foster ma & pa haven't seen me do potties in the house and I'm not tellin' if some of the accidents they've found were from me. They have seen me go outside and on potty pads. I do like to table surf so things that can hurt me shouldn't be left in my reach. I do bedtime in the crate because that's what they do here. I'm not thrilled but I also don't fuss too much.
